Arguably nobody had a worse week than the University of Alabama.

Lets start with their football team. The Crimson Tide went into Saturday 11-0 and #1 in the playoff rankings. Then disaster struck when they lost to the Auburn Tigers. Not only was this a devastating rivalry loss, but the loss also kicked Alabama out of the top 4 spots in the playoff rankings, which could lead to the first time since the College Football Playoff was introduced that the Crimson Tide won’t be in it.

To add insult to injury, the Alabama Men’s basketball team had one of the weirdest basketball games ever, losing to Minnesota 89-84, but that’s not the weird part. The strangest part of all of this is that the Crimson Tide played the last 10 minutes of the game with only 3 players. The sequence of events goes like this. Trash talk between the two teams got a Minnesota player ejected and their coach a technical. After Alabama took their four free throws, a scuffle started under the basket, leading to the entire Alabama bench running onto the court. This was followed by immediate ejections for the Alabama bench, leaving them with only 5 players. Next, with about 11 minutes left in the second half, one of Alabama’s players fouled out, leaving only four. Not even a minute later, one of Alabama’s players went down with an ankle injury and didn’t return. This left three Alabama players to battle it out for the last 10 minutes, narrowly losing by 5 points with only three players.

So if you had a bad holiday weekend, and are looking for something to cheer you up, look no further than Alabama Sports because there is no way that you had a worse weekend than them.
